Pastoral Biography: Rev. Robin Dixon-Floyd – Pastor, Woman of Prayer, Purpose and Power
Acknowledging Jesus as God’s Holy Son, believing He came to save all, making a confession of sins, and receiving the filling of the Holy Spirit, Robin Dixon-Floyd became a recipient of salvation and citizen of the kingdom of God while in elementary school.
Pastor Floyd attended Barry University where she received the Bachelor of Professional Studies Degree with a concentration in Business Management; and is an honor graduate of Turner Theological Seminary at The Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) in Atlanta, Georgia with a Masters of Divinity Degree and Pastoral Counseling concentration.
Pastor Floyd has been employed with Broward County Board of County Commissioners for the past 18 years. Beginning as a Contract Grants Administrator II and now the Administrator of the Office of Evaluation and Planning, she leads a team of 11 employees, 3 sections and $1.1M budget. During this tenor, she has been distinguished as Employee of the Year twice.
On March 16, 2018 at the closing of the Eleventh Episcopal District Mid-Year Service Rev. Robin Dixon-Floyd was assigned her second pastoral charge to serve as Pastor of Harvest A.M.E. Church in Pahokee, Florida. An integral role upon accepting this position involved steering the people of God towards commitment and dedication in prayer. Thus, Pastor Floyd immediately sought the Lord and called the people to prayer and a renewed commitment to ministry by establishing an Intercessory Prayer Ministry and assigning prayer points targeting specific needs and coverage for each prayer watch.
Rev. Floyd was then coined by Harvest parishioners as the Woman of Prayer, Purpose, and Power. Through her vision, leadership, and approach to ministry, Harvest has been the recipient of a Community Revitalization Grant funded through the City of Palm Beach for the upkeep of Larrimore Road and the surrounding community. Pastor Floyd’s penchant for business, stewardship, and sensitivity to the guidance of the Holy Spirit led her to focus on liquidation of debt totaling approximately $25K and today Harvest is debt free. Additionally, she continued building upon Harvest’s legacy of empowering youth by establishing a Youth Greeter’s Ministry and youth musician in training component. Most importantly, Pastor Floyd re-established the ministry of servanthood in each disciple of Harvest highlighting the fact that we are blessed to be a blessing and serve humankind as unto the Lord. Through this God ordained mandate Harvest has served the community through meeting both the spiritual and physical needs of the community including but not limited to: regular church services and ministries; free Community Give-A-Ways; distribution of Thanksgiving baskets; personal care items for students at Pahokee Middle Senior High School; donation of Christmas items for five (5) families in the Florida panhandle areas impacted by Hurricane Michael; and Christmas donations of $1,000 to six (6) families encompassing 33 individuals in Freeport Bahamas who lost everything due to Hurricane Dorian.
Pastor Floyd previously served as Pastor of New Bethel in South Bay for 5 ½ years where God added 46 souls to the kingdom. While serving in her first charge she inherited a building project and led the progression by serving as Project Manager, obtaining an active Building Permit, hiring a General Contractor and Architect, completely enclosing the building including a new roof, windows and doors with the help of the Lord. Pastor Floyd is the founder of RADICALL (Ready, Able, Determined, Intercessory CALL) prayer ministry which assembles each morning at 6:00 am to intercede on behalf of the needs of others.
Pastor Floyd serves on various ministries throughout the conference level such as Assistant to the Conference Secretary, Board of Examiner Secretary and Member, Women in Ministry Secretary, Resolution Committee, and Chairperson of Ministries to Young Adults. She is an anointed Holy Ghost filled woman of God who is committed to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. Her passion is teaching and equipping God’s people for discipleship.
Pastor Floyd is the proud wife of Antonio Floyd who is her greatest supporter and the gratified mother of Bethany Valencia.
